Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) SNAP, formerly known as the Federal Food Stamp Program, provides monthly benefits to low-income households to help pay the cost of food. The program provides education and information to those receiving food stamps promoting healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and more.
