Shelter Services Women and their children are assigned an advocate within 72 hours of their arrival to the shelter. Our staff and volunteer advocates coordinate services for the women and children that support the goals and objectives set forth by our clients. The first principle of recovery from abuse is the empowerment of the survivor. A survivor must be the author and arbiter of her own recovery. PADV’s guiding principle of recovery is to restore power and control to the survivor. PADV provides the following programs to women and their children who seek emergency shelter.
