Our 40th Anniversary Concludes
As our 40th anniversary winds to a close, we would like to thank all of you for joining us in this year-long commemoration and for your ongoing support. As a part of this special year we created a video that highlights the history of the organization, our programs and services and looks to the future. Click here to watch our 40th anniversary video.
We launched a campaign with our Facebook followers called “40 Stories,” which gave us a chance to share stories about people from across our organization. From survivor to volunteer; from staff member to board member, these stories highlighted the work ethic of those connected to our organization and the impact our organization has on the community. To read 36 stories click here. The final four stories of our “40 Stories” series will be posted to our Facebook page the week of December 25.
On November 10, PADV also held its inaugural Executives in Action Luncheon to commemorate our 40th anniversary. The luncheon focused on creating awareness on the impact of domestic violence to the health of the workplace. Our keynote speaker, Linda Klein, Immediate Past President of the American Bar Association, spoke about how the legal community could better address domestic violence and Charmagne Helton, current PADV board member and former client, shared the importance of having a supportive work environment and an Early Action Plan (EAP) program that addresses domestic violence. They both were joined in a panel discussion by Jennifer Graham-Johnson, Chief Human Resources Officer for WestRock, where they answered a wide variety of domestic violence related questions.
