CLIENT AND DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), is committed to protecting the privacy of its clients and donors, as well as maintaining the trust and confidence of all individuals and entities interacting with us.  This Privacy Policy outlines how PADV collects, uses, and safeguards your personal information.

 

Information Collected

PADV collects and maintains the following types of information:

  • Contact Information: Name, organization, address, phone number, and email address
  • Payment Information: Credit card number & expiration date, and billing details
  • Interaction Information: How you heard about PADV, as well as questions, comments, or suggestions you voluntarily provide
  • SMS Messaging Data: Information regarding SMS interactions, including timestamps, message content (limited to non-sensitive data), and delivery statuses

Information Usage

With your permission, we use personal information collected to:

  • Process Transactions: To facilitate donations, purchases, or other transactions
  • Send Donation Receipts and Giving Statements: To provide donors with receipts for their contributions and annual giving statements for tax purposes.
  • Provide Communication Services:
    • To send updates on PADV’s services, fundraising campaigns, events, and major initiatives (only with prior consent).
    • To send donation receipts and giving statements
    • To respond to client inquiries and provide immediate support through SMS messaging.
  • Enhance Services: To tailor support and improve our programs.

 

Note: SMS messaging will not be used to send marketing or promotional content unless explicit consent has been obtained.

Consent for SMS Communication

To comply with the CTIA guidelines:

  • Opt-In Requirement: Clients and donors must explicitly opt-in to receive SMS communications. This may be done via:
    • Online forms (e.g., Contact Us, Bookings, or Donation forms).
    • In-person or written agreements.
    • Text message opt-in mechanisms.
  • Opt-Out Capability: You may opt-out of SMS communications at any time by replying “STOP” to any PADV text message or contacting us via email at [email protected].  Opt-out requests will be processed immediately, with a confirmation message sent upon completion.

Data Security and Storage

  • All client and donor information is stored securely in a restricted database located onsite at PADV’s administrative offices.
  • Reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards are implemented to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
  • PADV conducts regular audits to ensure data security and compliance with privacy best practices.

Sharing of Personal Information

  • PADV may share limited personal information with trusted service providers performing functions on our behalf.  These entities are contractually obligated to use your information solely to perform specific functions and must maintain its confidentiality.
  • PADV does not sell, rent, or share client or donor information to third parties.
  • PADV reserves the right to use or disclose any information as needed to satisfy any law, regulation or legal request, to protect the integrity of our organization, to fulfill your requests, or to cooperate in any law enforcement investigation or an investigation on a public safety matter.

Unwanted Messaging Protection

To ensure compliance with CTIA best practices and maintain the trustworthiness of our SMS services:

  • PADV will only send messages relevant to the purposes for which consent was provided.
  • PADV uses tools to monitor and prevent spam, phishing, or other harmful SMS traffic.

Access and Control

You are in control of all personal information you provide to us.  You can:

  • Update or correct your personal information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Review your consent status for receiving communications.

 

If you would like to unsubscribe from our email list, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our newsletter emails or contact us via email or the address below.  It may take up to two weeks to remove you from our email list.  Please be advised that this means that if an e-newsletter is in production at the time you ask to be removed from the list, you may receive the e-newsletter prior to us completing the processing of your request to have your name removed from the email list.
